This is a re-write. Leo told me that what I originally submitted to him was the worst thing I've ever written. Boo hoo! I'm not changing the stupid headings though. F you Mr. Editor-in-Chief!!!!

First off, let me say this... Don't EVER go see DAS BOOT in a theatre!!!!!!! Maybe rent it sometime (though I really didn't like it, some of you MIGHT), but NEVER IN A THEATRE!!!!!! I went to see it with Leo and Colin the other night, and Jesus! I've never shifted in my seat more than I did in those three and a half hours. My body still isn't re-adjusted. I'm uncomfortable. Leo said that it nearly moved him to tears. I'm hoping he's confused the word "moved" with "bored".

I'm not in the mood to write anything profound (like that ever happens anyways, but you know what I mean), so here's a few movies that you may not have seen, that are really good, and you should watch.

I already covered this in last issue, I know. However, I don't think you've all seen it. Why? Are you-all retarded??!?!? Am I going to have this hard a time getting you all to go see RUN RONNIE RUN, when it comes out?

NOTE: The following article, is being written at gunpoint. Leo's angry at me, cuz I was supposed to write this while he was on vacation, but didn't. Because I have a gun up my nose, my writing shall be brief.

I just realized that I didn't write anything about the stuff I saw at the Toronto Film Fest back in September. So I'll skim over what I saw. The films I saw at this year's Fest were for the most part, enjoyable. It was definitely an improvement from last year, but it didn't have a crazy small film that I loved as much as WILD ZERO, last year. That said, the Midnight Madness program did have a lot of quality stuff in it.

Firstly, I'd like to take this time to apologize for my article in last issue. It was shit, and I didn't have time to realize it before sending it in since I was writing last minute. Sorry. Anyways, on with the movie suggestions.

A tour pamphlet published by the DART, the city's urban railway, refers to Kilbarrack as an interesting place with many colourful characters like the ones in the movie The Commitments which, by the way, was filmed down the street from my uncle's residence.

Colourful characters indeed.

Howdy. I'm sure my CoNtribution to this issue will make many people, happy little girls and boys. I'm very much not in the mood to write, so I shall be brief.

So I went to see some movies at the Toronto International Film Festival again this year. Saw some movies. Leo asked me to write something about my five favourites. Here they are in the order I saw them. Enjoy, or don't enjoy. I could give a toss. Go see at least one of the movies when it's released though.

The first of the Zatoichi films. It's the bomb, yo! He's blind, and he's quicker and more accurate than anyone with a sword. He also enjoys the odd drink, and gamble. I was watching a Zatoichi flic with Leo the other night, and told him that I think Zatoichi's my new hero. Maybe.

Thumbs up? Thumbs down? I feel like doing something original this issue.

CoN's Con Air Review Jun 16, 1997, 03:00 EDT

It was a good movie. Decent acting on the part of Nicholas Cage and special mention for Steve Buscemi. It is definitely a gazillion times better than, "Can't stop the music." You will leave the theater knowing how the world works.

Back in high-school we had this things called "Sexual Awareness classes", where we'd be fed propaganda about not having sex and that giving our virginity to someone else after marriage was the only way to go. A nun, of all people, was teaching the course. Of course nobody, except the ugly weird kid sitting at the corner there, much cared about this shit, in fact, probably a good 90% of the class was already sexually active.

I was a bomb waiting to go off. I now know why the occasional person kills a whole floor of people every now and then. See, I know that the woman ultimately leads a bitter, pained and angry life and is to thus be pitied (pitied, but dealt with justly none the less) but with all that pent up energy I was ready to lunge. The corporate structure is insectoid and I am too much of a mammal to bear it long.

Cotton Mary Aug 14, 2000, 01:00 EDT
By Leandro Nicastro

The other night my girlfriend took me to see "Cotton Mary". Despite the fact that the movie had one famous actor Greta Scacchi (assuming you know her and even if you do, still remember her), the movie was, to put it simply and very mildly, a waste of time. I could've added money to that list, but it was cheap Tuesday and my girlfriend paid for it.
